A mare who wandered up to Shiloh after spending almost a week loose in the desert.
4/5/13 Happy news as Ochocinco was adopted today! 02/1/13 Ochocinco is working hard and getting ready for a new home. Please see under saddle videos below. 7/28/12 Ochocinco is doing very well and really progresing. She is very good out on trail and still being worked in the arena. She stands for mounting and tacking and stands for the farrier. She is sound and healthy and with steady work she will make someone a wonderful riding horse. She needs a more experienced rider. 05.16.12 Ochocinco in the Mare Motel, she is currently being worked with and evaluated for adoption... 04.28.12 Ochocinco enjoying a larger space in Okay Corral with her herd. She is looking good and healthy. 04.17.12 We moved the three mares- Breeze, Nike and Ochocinco (in the back) - out into Okay Corral from the Duplex. Since they are all at a healthy weight, we decided they needed to move out into a larger area... 03/09/12 Ochocinco was ridden in the round pin today, and she is doing great. 12/26/11 Ochocinco (in the front), Laguna, Breeze and Rabbit had some fun in the turn out today... 10/23/11 Ochocinco is being worked and looking for a new home soon. 10/06/11 The guys have been helping out with working with horses. Felipe has been working with Ochocinco... And today, he hopped on her for the first time. We knew she was broke to ride, but we didn't know how much she knew as she had been found wandering in the desert. We always begin from scratch with the horses and take our time. Good job, Felipe! 8/20/11 Ochocinco. She began her work for possible adoption this morning. She is fat, sound and ready to move on to her new future... 7/6/11 Ochocinco is looking good in Little Vacation Village... 5/1/11 Ochocinco was Rescue Horse of the week, please go her: http://shilohhorserescue.rescuegroups.org/info/display?PageID=10481 11/11/10 We eventually began to suspect that Ochocinco was pregnant and stopped her work. Our vet confirmed it and on 10/31/10 she gave birth to a healthy little colt, Cairo! Please check out Cairo's page for more info and photos. 9/2/10 We have begon to work with an evaluate Ochocinco, more info to come! 7/6/10 Ochocinco is gaining weight and enjoying turn outs. She is doing really well. This interesting mare was found outside of Shiloh's fence line one morning. We quickly figured out she was pregnant and months later she gave birth to a healthy colt, Cairo. Cairo has since been adopted and now Ochocinco is ready to move on to her new life as well.
She was restarted under saddle and is still being worked with but she is now trotting quietly under saddle in the arena and learning to head out on trail. She is sound and healthy but still needs an experienced rider.
Adoption fee: $400.00 Sponsors: Pat Taylor 6/4- 6/11, 2010 Other Pictures of Ochocinco (click to see larger version):
