Pit Bull Attack

Pit Bull Attack 1

Trooper is a little guy who came to Shiloh after being attacked by a Pit Bull dog. Concerned neighbors called Animal Control after noticing his injuries and the lack of food and care that Trooper and his mother, Ginger were receiving from their owners. In order to get out of having to answer to Animal Control, the owners signed both horses over to Shiloh.

Trooper arrived with large infected wounds from the Pit Bull. Pus and blood was still draining out of the wounds. His side, shoulder, lips, and nostrils have been torn open. We immediately cleaned all the wounds and put him on antibiodics. Trooper stood very still for the cleaning, he never moved a muscle, even as we scrubbed the dead tissue away. In spite of the horrible things that have already happened to him at such a young age- he is sweet, gentle, and loving. He really is a little Trooper!

Trooper and his mother, Ginger, are currently in rehab.

Pit Bull Attack 2

Trooper's shoulder wound, down to the muscle.

Pit Bull Attack 3

His muzzle- it looks like the Pit Bull clamped onto his nose, right over his mouth. His inner nostril is torn up, part of his lip is almost torn off.

Pit Bull Attack 4

His large side wound.
