10/23/10 Happy news as Helga has officially adopted Hutch!

9/8/10 Hutch is nice and fat and healthy and is now being worked under saddle. He is actually quite lazy!

7/10/10 Hutch is doing well and is finally at a healthy weight. In another month or so, we will begin to evaluate his soundness.

2/4/10 We had Hutch x-rayed and it was found he had a fractured Sesamoid bone in his one front leg, a typical racing injury. We are keeping him wrapped and his movement a bit restricted as it heals. With time, he should heal enough to go on to a pleasure riding home.

1/23/10 Hutch is now in the Hospice area. He is going to need a few months out in a pasture once we feel his leg is doing well enough. The swelling is gone, but we are still wrapping it for support. Hutch is a very personable and friendly gelding.

1/15/10 Hutch is doing well, still in isolation and still having his leg tended to daily. He is a very well mannered and friendly gelding.

We have traced this geldings racing tattoo, his JC reg name is "Hutch". He was foaled in 2006. He raced 7 times, with 5 seconds, earning $29,100.00. He raced at Golden Gate, Del Mar, Pleasanton and Oak Tree before being picked up at Golden Gate and transported directly to the Fallon Feedlot where he was scheduled to ship to slaughter in Canada within days. 

Arrived at Shiloh on 12/29/09 from the Fallon Feedlot where he was purchased for $300.00. Arrived wearing his racing plates.

Has what appears to be a Suspensory Ligament injury on his front leg.
