About Anthem

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Horse
  • Current Age: 30 Years 4 Months (best estimate)
Anthem is a big beautiful Thoroughbred gelding who was donated to Shiloh. He is 16.1 hands tall. He has excellent manners and is sweet and kind.

Anthem was a Hunter/Jumper who was shown in many shows and who jumped 4" at one time.

He is currently recovering from a lameness and we are hoping for a complete recovery. We will keep his story updated.

UPDATE: 9/22/05 Anthem is doing great and seems to love living at Shiloh. We will be taking him into the vet clinic in October to get some x-rays taken so that we can properly diagnose his lameness. Once we know what it is, we can hopefully treat it, and find him a wonderful home!

UPDATE:110/02/05 Anthem was possibly going to be placed into a wonderful home- but it seems that there is more to his story. Once he arrived at his prospective home, he began to have some behavioral issues that had not shown themselves before. It is possible that he suffered some sort of back injury, was over worked, or burnt out. We have decided to give him some more time just to be a horse, and then re-evaluate him for possible adoption. It is possible that he needs to have a whole new direction in his life, one that is less stressful or not full of bad memories- maybe as a trail horse.

We will keep his story updated.

UPDATE: 4/20/06 Anthem is doing great living out in our "Bachelor Pad" pasture. He is good friends with Grady and enjoys hanging out with his friends.
