8/30/13 Muncie is doing wonderfully and is really coming along. He is going to make someone a really cool riding horse!

8/16/13 Muncie is doing well and we have begun working with him again. He does have some issues (possible cold back?) when tacking up- but we will continue to work through the issue. He gets better everyday. He was ridden for the first time today and while he is green, we now do think he has been under saddle in the past. Most likely he was dumped because of his tacking issue- once he gets worked through it- he stands still for mounting and moves off of the leg and actually has good manners. Stands tied for bathing, etc. Sound and healthy. At this point he needs an experienced rider.

8/5/13 Muncie, who is now up to a healthy weight, is spending a month or so out in the Big Pasture- he was beginning to get a bit nervous as we began his under saddle work. We do not believe he is broke to ride yet- we backed off a bit to keep everything low stress for him. Because we do not know anything about how he was treated before coming here (and we are assuming it was not good), we are taking our time and will be starting him from scratch after his pasture summer vacation.

Indy and Muncie- two abandoned horses find safety at Shiloh

03/17/13 Muncie, one of the horses found dumped in the desert two months ago, is gradually gaining weight. Once he is healthy he will be evaluated for adoption to his new home. A very sweet young gelding who is going make someone an excellent horse.

01/19/13 Muncie is doing very well. He has been moved out into the bungalows where he together with Indy has more room to move around..

12/30/12 Muncie is doing well and beginning to out on some weight. He is kind and gentle and in time we are hoping highly adoptable.

12/16/12 Yesterday, we had two new unexpected arrivals to the rescue.

It is a long and complicated story. On his way to pick up a load of hay cubes, Diego passed a truck and trailer hauling two horses along the dirt road. Diego arrived at the hay farm and was getting loaded up when the same truck and trailer pulled in- this time WITHOUT the two horses. He immediately called Shiloh and and Shiloh crew jumped in the truck and headed out to confront the driver.

Of course, he denied that the horses were his and that he had dumped them, even though all of the evidence pointed to the contrary.

The Shiloh crew took photos and information from the driver as we will be contacting Animal Control.

After the confrontation, Shiloh loaded up the two horses, both geldings, and took them back to the rescue and safety.
