12/1/12 Mirage is now in a foster home with a longtime Shiloh volunteer and adopter. 

10/07/12 Yesterday afternoon we had a call from a neighboring ranch that there was a horse wandering on the empty gravel road.

We all hopped in the truck and headed over. There she was, just standing and waiting for someone to help her. Looks like another horse dumped out in the desert.... She is very well mannered 2-3 year old QH, shod all the way around (with front pads which leads me to suspect a lameness) and she walked very calmly into the trailer.
We searched with binoculars to see if there was another horse with her anywhere as sometimes multiple horses have been in this same area. But, we couldn't find another one. We have have named her Mirage and we will do all we can for her.
