Update on 5/1/07 We have placed little Surprise up for adoption, but she will have to remain at Shiloh until she is weaned from her mother at approx 6 months of age. We think it is not too early for someone to adopt her and start loving and playing with her- it's a great bonding time!

Another foal is born at Shiloh! SURPRISE!

Gypsy, a mare who was rescued from the Fallon Feedlot last summer along with her weanling baby, Carmel, gave birth to a healthy little filly. We did not know that Gypsy was pregnant (she must have bred during her foal heat before going to the feedlot) until she began to show signs, so the little foal is named "Surprise".

Surprise is so sweet and very adventurous- she spent some of her first day exploring her outdoor run. She is already quite independent, unlike little Rain, who is a mama's girl! Surprise appears to be healthy and is nursing and walking. The birth was quick and uneventful.
