12/11/11 Insunur was returned to Shiloh from his adoptive home as his YOUNG owner was outgrowing him and SHE HAD moved up to another Shiloh Horse, Slider. Izzy is broke to ride and was ridden bareback and in a halter by his young rider all over Sandy Valley. He is gaited and will do the Icelandic "Flying Pace" (a very fast but smooth trot). A super great pony! Izzy is sound BUT his one stifle will lock up for a stride if he has been standing for a while (like in his corral)- but he moves soundly under saddle. locking stifles is a pretty common trait of gaited horses- including Icelandic Ponies. It does not affect his rideablility.

These ponies were part of a group of 100 rescued from a hoarding situation in CA by Falcon Ridge Horse Rescue in San Diego, CA. Isungur (born in 2002) is very flashy with his flaxen mane and tail. He was gelded just a few weeks ago and still is a bit studdy. He is a bit hard to catch but once you catch him he will lead pretty well.

Isungur does have a stifle issue, it will lock up from time to time. We will have him looked at on our next vet day at Shiloh. Isungur has been ridden before and worked on the long line and under tack.
