About Pokie Dot

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Pony
  • Current Age: 27 Years 7 Months (best estimate)
  • Reaction to New People: Cautious

2/1/15 Pokie is doing great living with her friends.

8/16/13 Pokie Dot is doing well and is currently in our Bungalow area with her BFF mini mule Huckleberry.

11/17/12 Wandering one eyed pony, Pokie Dot, soaking up some of the warm sun after a cold night...

03/24/12 Wandering pony, Pokie Dot, shares some hay with the Bungalow horses. But, Fame has gotten smart and has figured out a way to save some hay for later! :o)

12.06.11 We let Pokie Dot out to wander for a while. We have found that sometimes the shy horses do well with some time of freedom. Once they realize that all is good and no one is going to hurt them, and that we are actually ignoring them a bit- they usually begin to seek out attention from us. Pokie already will come up for a carrot, something she did not want to do in her corral...

11/24/11 Pokie Dot returned to Shiloh due to financial reasons in her adoptive home. She looks great, fat, healthy and fuzzy. She is again looking for a new home where she can get the attention she deserves. She is wary of people but we will continue to work with her until her new home comes along.

4/9/10 Happy news as Pokie Dot has been adopted by Toni and Shannon of Pahrump! A great home for Pokie with this horse loving family where she will get the attention and love she deserves!

Arrived at Shiloh on 1/4/09 from the Fallon feedlot where she was purchased for $150.00.

She is hard to catch and is afraid, but once she is caught she will allow you to handle her a bit. We had her taken into the vet clinic on the day she arrived as her one eye is very inflamed and had some sort of blunt trauma to it. We knew she had an eye problem at the lot, but it was too hard to see it from where we had to stand. The vets have recommended that her eye be removed for her own health and quality of life, which we have agreed to. She will remain in the vet clinic over the weekend.
