GOOD FACE IN GREENER PASTURES
May 2, 2009 Sad News as Good Face was acting strangely on Saturday. She was acting a bit colicy, but was also showing some signs of possible heart issues. Good Face had been going downhill a bit over the past two months and was really showing her age. We made the decision to bring her into the clinic where she was examined. She had a huge heart murmur and a somewhat impacted colon. Dr. Ballard thought there was some underlying medical issue going on with her, most likely related to her heart, but we decided to try to treat the colic and go from there. After only an hour or so into the treatment, she started to really fail and we made the sad decision to have her euthanised. Good Face was at Shiloh for about a year and a half and had a good life out in our pasture. We are glad she was able to live out her days in our Sanctuary.
Good Face, you will be missed...
SHILOH SANCTUARY HORSE
UPDATE 03/09/08 Good Face has entered Shiloh's Sanctuary where she will live out her life.
UPDATE: 1/2008 Good Face is currently out in the Cuckoo's nest pasture with her friends. She is much fatter than when she first arrived. Due to her advanced age, Good Face will be entering our Sanctuary soon. Good Face is an older mare who was rescued off of the Fallon feedlot before being shipped to slaughter in Mexico. She was named Good Face for her sweet and kind face and her gentle spirit. Jill walked up to her and said, "Look at that good face!" She is very thin.
