Foggy in Greener Pastures

"Softly, I will leave you softly.
For my heart would break if you should wake and see me go.
So I leave you softly, long before you miss me..."
-song lyrics

UPDATE: 3/15/08 Sad news as Foggy passed away in the night. We had been keeping an eye on him for the last three weeks or so. He had lost some weight, although he was eating, and was acting lethargic. He was spending more time laying in the sand, not rolling or looking uncomfortable, just laying quietly. We had moved him out of Area 51 (where he had been put a few months ago because he was too rambunctious with other older guys), and moved him into first Big Vacation Village, and then last week, Assisted Living.

Foggy had some melanomas, so it is possible that his tumors had spread inside. Or that he had a Limpoma, a slow growing tumor that wraps around the intestine. We will never know for sure, but we can say that he was not suffering, just not feeling as good as he used to.

Foggy came to us from a property in Sandy Valley, where he was underfed and not cared for. His last two years were full of friendship and comfort and we know he was happy at Shiloh.

We will miss little Foggy. He is buried at Shiloh.

SHILOH SANCTUARY HORSE
Foggy is a sweet gelding who was donated on 10/24/06 so that we could find him a new loving home. We were told that he is easy to ride and well broke.

Foggy appears to be sound and healthy, but is thin. Once he has gained his weight, he will be evaluated for adoption.

2007, Foggy has entered Shiloh's Sanctuary to live out his life.
