------- CASCADE -------

Cascade (formerly Cinder!) is a sweet flea-bitten Thoroughbred mare who was donated to Shiloh. She has good manners but becomes tense under saddle.

We think that she has only been ridden very hard and is afraid of what her rider is going to do. She settles down after a few minutes of quiet riding and should come along fine. She just needs time and patience and she will make a wonderful riding horse.

Cascade 1

UPDATE: 7/30/05 Cascade has been quickly adopted by Caroline Mason of Las Vegas who is willing to spend the time letting Cascade relax and learn to trust her rider again.

UPDATE: 12/5/05 Cascade, was returned to Shiloh because her adoptive owner was having a hard time finding the time to spend with Cascade due to her new job, and she felt that Cascade wasn't getting the attention she deserved. So, as is our policy, she was returned so that we could replace her into another new home. Cascade's former owner was very sad to have to bring her back but she knew she had to do what is best for the horse. Cascade will be re-evaluated.

Cascade 3

UPDATE: 1/23/06 Cascade is doing very well thanks to two Shiloh volunteers and adopters, Shirley and Jeff. They have been working woith Cascade and have really made a difference in her attitude. She will be re-evaluated for adoption once our move is complete.

UPDATE: 4/1/06 Happy news as Cascade was adopted by Jeff and Shirley of Las Vegas! Cascade joins another Shiloh horse, Pebble, in her new family!

6/2/10 Cascade is back at Shiloh. She looks good, nice and fat. it's been a while since she was worked with and needs a refresher course in manners. She is a bit of a difficult horse to work with as she is very "mare-ish".

6/23/10 Cascade is now spending some time out in our pasture.
