Extremely Sad news as Daisy was gently euthanised on our June 2nd, 2011 vet day. We had to make this heartbreaking decision due to her advanced arthritis that she had developed in her neck. Because she was a dwarf she had birth defects, her head was too large for her body and as she aged it caused very bad arthritis in her neck vertebrae. We went as long as we could, but we could not allow little Daisy to suffer or be in pain. Daisy passed very quickly, completely surrounded by her Shiloh Family. She had a very good last day with lots of treats and attention and passed in the early evening in the area where she had lived.

Daisy lived an excellent life at Shiloh, she wanted for nothing and ruled her piece of the ranch with an iron hoof. She loved to chase the dogs and pigs and would periodically be found bossing the pigs around in the Pig Palace. She wandered freely all of her years at the rescue.

We will be spending time with her today. Very, very sad news for all of us- daisy is a very special little girl. We have been dreading this day...

Daisy is a Mini Dwarf who was donated to Shiloh in 2005. She has deformed legs and feet, but she does get along really well. She needs special attention to her hooves and so that we can keep her comfortable and happy.

9/7/05 Daisy now has the run of the rescue! She gets let out in the morning and roams around the whole property meeting and greeting people and horses alike. She has even been known to go inside the tackrooms and hide. We will sadly miss to be greeted by her cute face!

05.29.10 "Shiloh’s participation immediately brought all the energy in the room up! The kids especially love Daisy, the miniature horse. And Daisy is so attentive. You can see that she really enjoyed the attention and having the kids read to her." Quoted from an article in Best Friend's Newsletter after Daisy's session of "I Read to Animals" at a local library.

We miss you Daisy, may you always wander freely at Shiloh...
