Mariposa is a little filly who was rescued from a feedlot in Fallon, NV. She was orphaned when her mother's neck was broken during careless roping at the feedlot. Mariposa was scheduled to be shipped to Canada for slaughter within a day of her rescue.

Mariposa (meaning "butterfly" in spanish) has become best friends with the little weanling colt, Carson, and follows him everywhere!

UPDATE: 8/1/06 Little Mariposa is doing much better. She has gained her weight back and is feeling good. She is still wary of people, but she is very curious. She is so cute!


UPDATE: 10/1/06 Sweet little Mariposa is now available for adoption to a new home. She is still very shy of people, but with individual attention, she will make a wonderful little pony! She is healthy and sound and ready to start her new life! This is a very cute little baby!

UPDATE: 10/3/06 Mariposa has found a home of her own! She will join another Shiloh baby, Raven in her new family. Both babies have been adopted by Swan of Las Vegas! We are so happy to see little orphaned Mariposa finally have someone of her own to love and care for her. What a great ending- and beginning...
