FREE TO GOOD HOME!

UPDATE: 5/1/08 Sapphire is now in the Mare Motel with a halter and lead on. Her feet have been trimmed (with sedation) and she is currently being worked with.

Sapphire is available to an experienced home only. With time and patience, she will make someone a nice horse, or serve as a companion horse. She will allow her face and neck to be pet and will come right up to take carrots from the hand.

UPDATE: 5/17/07 Blue Moon, a little black- but soon to be roan- colt was born a few days ago. His mother, Sapphire was rescued off of the Fallon feedlot with the help of the FOBs. Blue moon and Sapphire are both doing great- little "Moony" loves to get out and play and has made friends with other foals, Latte and Nitro.


Arrived at Shiloh 3/26/07

These mares were rescued using funds donated by the Fans of Barbaro (FOBs). The FOBs raised over $13,000 in just days to save 25 heavily pregnant mares off of the Fallon Feedlot in Northern Nevada. Shiloh teamed up with other rescues and horse lovers across the country to take in these mares so that they could have their foals in safety. This rescue puts Shiloh's total at 13 pregnant mares from this feedlot rescue.
