Gypsy on 3/31/08

Gypsy is available to an experienced home. She is NOT halterbroke, but will approach and take carrots from hand. She will also allow her face to be pet. Sound and healthy, with time and patience she can make someone a nice horse or serve as a companion horse.

UPDATE: 1/2008 Gypsy is looking for a new home, now that her foal is weaned. Gypsy is currently being worked with to try to get her halter broken so that she can find a new life. At this time, she is still very wary of people, although Dave can now pet her on the face, a huge step for her!

Gypsy and her young foal, Carmel were rescued from a feedlot in Fallon, NV where they were scheduled to be shipped to slaughter in Canada within a day. Gypsy, unknown to us, was also pregnant when rescued from the feedlot, she has since given birth to a filly we have named Surprise.

UPDATE: 6/30/06 Little Carmel is starting to approach us and will almost let us touch her. She is very interested in people and will almost eat out of a bucket in our hands. Her mother, Gypsy, is still very wary, but she is coming around and does not run as fast or as far away from us when we enter the pasture.

UPDATE: 8/17/06 Gypsy and Carmel are doing great. Little Carmel's adoption is pending and she will go to her new home when she is ready to leave her mother. Carmel now loves to be pet and scratched!
