6/25/09 Happy news as Dove finally finds a home where she will get the training and attention she needs.
For people who are not familiar with Dove's background- Dove was rescued off of the Fallon Feedlot heavily pregnant and completely unhandable. She had her baby in safety at a foster home, the baby was eventually adopted. The foster tried to work with Dove for 6 months, but was unable to even halter her. Dove, and the other pregnant mares from this save were used as breeding bucking stock. We have tried multiple times, along with our vet, to run her into a chute, sedate her, and trim her feet- but it is impossible and dangerous to those who tried and to Dove. Dove is living a good horse life out in one of our pastures. Perhaps someone will come along who can give her a safe and useful home, but if not, she will remain at Shiloh.

Adoption Questionaire
Dove on 3/31/08
Dove is available to an experienced home only. She is NOT halterbroke and wary of people. With time and patience, she can make someone a nice horse or companion horse.
UPDATE: Nov 2007 Dove is back home at Shiloh. Her colt was adopted by a great family in Las Vegas, he now has a bright future ahead. Dove is looking great and is out in the mare's pasture.
Dove's foal was born in his Foster Home in Las Vegas. Dove, the pretty gray mare rescued off of the feedlot, gave birth to a healthy big dark bay/black colt! Dove and her baby are doing great- Dove is an excellent, but protective, mother! Look at that little cutie's face! Great markings too!
A big thank you to Alexis and her family for opening their hearts and home to Dove and her little foal!
Dove is now at her birthing Foster Home! She is fostered by Alexis and her family! We will keep her story updated once her foal is born!
Arrived at Shiloh on 3/25/07
Dove is a pregnant mare who was rescued along with 24 other pregnant mares from the Fallon Feedlot with the help of The Fans of Barbaro, who together donated more than $13,000 to save these mares.
13 of the 25 mares came to Shiloh to have their foals in safety. The remaining mares were placed throughout the United States with other rescue organizations.
Dove is very thin and heavily pregnant.
