Beauty is being worked with daily to get her more accepting of people, and everyday she is getting better!

beauty is NOT Halterbroke and is available only to an experienced home. She needs alot of time and patience. She will allow you to pet her face and walks right up to take carrots from hand. Really a cute little mare. Would make a good companion horse.
Arrived at Shiloh 3/26/07
These mares were rescued using funds donated by the Fans of Barbaro (FOBs). The FOBs raised over $13,000 in just days to save 25 heavily pregnant mares off of the Fallon Feedlot in Northern Nevada. Shiloh teamed up with other rescues and horse lovers across the country to take in these mares so that they could have their foals in safety. This rescue puts Shiloh's total at 13 pregnant mares from this feedlot rescue

A new little foal was born early this morning out at the ranch!
The black mare from the Fallon Feedlot, Beauty, rescued a few weeks ago, gave birth to a little black filly. She has a huge white star on her head, and we have named her "Twinkle"! Little Twinkle is small and thin, as most of the feedlot foals are due to their mother's lack of prior care, but she is up and eating and appears to be healthy.
Sadly, late last night, another Feedlot mare, Hazel, gave birth to TWINS, both were stillborn. It appears that they may have only been 9-10 months old (premature).
The feedlot mares were given absolutely NO PRENATAL CARE before their rescue, so their pregnancies are extremely high risk. Sadly, the little twins did not make it, in spite of attempts to revive them. The little foals were buried together at Shiloh.
The happiness of Twinkle's birth is mixed with the sadness of the passing of the Twins. The circle of life...
