About Cajun

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Horse
  • Current Age: 23 Years 2 Months (best estimate)
Cajun was rescued from the New Holland Auction in Pennsylvania with the help of Lost and Found Horse Rescue. She is a grandaughter of the great and famous racehorse, Alydar. She is also the grandaughter of the 1981 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner, Pleasant Colony. Cajun raced 20 times until she finally was sent to the slaughter auction by the same trainer who bred and raced her. She is a big beautiful mare who is currently gaining back her weight.

UPDATE: 2/16/05 Cajun is still gaining her weight and has really settled into her new life at Shiloh. She seems very happy and can't wait to eat her lunch everyday!

UPDATE: 4/15/05 Cajun has really filled out and she will start her training next week! She's a great horse with wonderful potential.

UPDATE: 7/15/05 Super happy news as Cajun has been adopted by Three Day Event rider, Jessica Brey-Burch of San diego, CA! Cajun has found the perfect home where she will be trained and competed in the Three Day discipline! Good Luck!
