5/20/12 Aiken is now up for adoption and looking for his new home. This is a nice big rangy TB gelding who has great manners and is fun to ride either in the arena or out on trail. He is sound, healthy and good looking!

12.28.11 We kept an eye on Aiken in the round pen. He was acting a little bit colicy at breakfast but seemed to feel better as the morning progressed and he went back out into his pasture for dinner...

9/18/10 Aiken is doing very well and staying happy and content in the pasture.

9/12/09 Aieken is doing great, staying nice and fat and happy in the pasture. He is a perfect horse for the vet testings and has great manners with the vet students.

 
Aiken is a Thoroughbred gelding who was originally rescued from slaughter by Angel Acres Horse Rescue Haven in Pennsylvannia. Shiloh was contacted by Angel Acres who asked if we could offer him a home. He arrived at Shiloh in May of 2005.


Aiken raced 49 times and earned $116,065.00 over 8 years. His pedigree can be traced back to Raise A Native and Bold Ruler. He sold as a yearling for $175,000.00 at the prestigious racing sale, Keeneland. Unfortunately, this did not protect Aiken from ending up having to be rescued out of the slaughter pen.


Aiken has some injuries due to his long racing career, but he is a wonderful and sweet horse. We will keep his story updated. 

UPDATE: 9/1/05 Aiken is enjoying living at Shiloh. He loves being turned out with his gelding friends, Cabrillo, Pacific, and Sloan when they all get to run and play together.

UPDATE: 4/20/06 Aiken is not adoptable at this time.

UPDATE: 9/12/06 Aiken is doing great. He is living with his friends in the Big Pasture where he is fat and content. He is such a sweet horse!
