10/3/09 Happy news as Journey is adopted to Leah of CA!

8/6/09 Journey is being worked regularly now.  She is willing and loves attention. She will do well in a home of her own where she will get all of the attention she deserves. A level headed mare with nice Arabian spirit.



Journey's adoption music video, filmed September 2009. She is still a bit rusty under saddle, we don't think she has been ridden for years before her rescue. (She was used as a broodmare.) We will continue to work with her until her home comes along.

5/9/09 Journey has finally begun to be ridden. She is doing well and is obviously well broke, just a bit rusty. If you are looking for an Arabian with some spunk, here she is!

UPDATE 4/24/08 Happy News! as Journey is back home at Shiloh. We are so happy that she pulled thru. Jill will get the test results when she comes back into town.

UPDATE 4/23/08 Late last night, Journey was rushed back to the vet by Leo as her condition began to deteriorate again. They were met by Shiloh volunteer Sabine. Large amounts of fluid was refluxed which is not a good sign. We had thought she might have to be euthanized before morning, but this morning Jill spoke with Dr. Shur, and they are running tests on her. Journey was screaming for her breakfast this morning , which is a great sign. Will keep updated as information comes.

UPDATE 4/22/08 Journey was rushed into town after showing signs of colic. She was checked by the vet and a mass was felt during the rectal exam. She was oiled and improved and has been brought back to Shiloh.

Journey is an older pregnant Arabian mare that was rescued from slaughter with her last years foal Smoke, and current years foal, Dubloon by her side. Journey is currently in the Bungalows.

Now that all her foaling days are over, Journey has been taken in from the pasture to start her adoption evaluation. She is alot less cranky now that she is not hugely pregnant! More info on her prgress to come very soon!

A foal is born! Journey gave birth to a beautiful palomino colt, we have named him Gold Strike!
