Scroll down to see newest Under Saddle video below! 6/24/11

6/24/11 Gentry is super fun to ride and although he is animated, he is easy and quiet. He is 100% sound and healthy, confident and willing and loves attention. This horse will make someone a horse of a lifetime! He lunges, ties, stands for the farrier, hauls, stands quietly for tacking and grooming. A truly wonderful horse.

9/5/10 Gentry is now looking for his new home. He is now going at the walk, trot and canter under saddle and loves attention and being ridden. Good manners on the ground and under saddle. This is one very special and loving horse! He is sound, healthy and up to date. Stands tied, stands for the farrier, trailers, etc. Note: He is available to the right home only, someone who fully understands his background, breed charactoristics and story. We are not in a hurry to find his home, we know that when the time is right, the right person will come along.

6/19/10 Gentry is doing wonderfully, moving forward and really learning to enjoy under saddle work. A very nice gelding who will be looking for his new home and future in about one month.

4/20/10 Gentry has really come a long way, we are very proud of him. He is now enjoying being ridden and loves attention at all times.

To think someone hated this horse so much that they marked his feedlot paperwork as "For Slaughter Only". Very sad. I still remember seeing him on the Fallon feedlot, I walked by him three times but something about him kept drawing me back. Our contact told me that I "wouldn't want him"- but something inside of me told me I did. I knew that even if he had to remain at Shiloh for his life, that I could not leave him, that I would regret it and he would haunt me. We made a very wise decision in saving this guy, his willingness, intelligence and playful spirit have more than proven themselves.

2/12/10 Gentry is really coming along! He is turning out to be a very special and nice gelding. He has been hopped on, and while it is obvious he needs some work and was not happy with his previous experiences under saddle, with time he will learn that it is fun to be ridden. He will really make someone a very cool riding horse!

1/25/10 Gentry is doing great! He is filling out, his leg wound is healed and his spirit is coming out! (Watch video below- that's him in the green blanket.) We have also discovered that Gentry's tail has been set so that he holds it per a show Saddlebred. He is cribbing a bit so we are currently treating him for stomach ulcers, which were not doubt, caused by stress before his rescue. A friendly and interesting gelding!
Arrived at Shiloh on 1/4/10 from the Fallon feedlot where he was purchased for $255.00.

Gentry was obviously well cared for at some point, although he is thin at the moment. He has great manners and wants to please. His mane is pulled and he has shoes all the way around. He was hopped on at the feedlot but he tensed up a bit. We will take it slowly with him and allow him to gain confidence.

I saw Gentry at the lot, standing in the wet snow and freezing weather, with an injured leg, shaking and stressed. He was to be shipped to a slaughterhouse in Canada the following morning and I just felt I had to save him. He was so afraid and to me it looked like he had resigned himself to a horrible fate, it was hard to see.

He is being treated for a large hind leg infected cut.

Gentry is a true gentleman on the ground and with some TLC and understanding, he will make someone a wonderful riding partner.
