7/27/11 Happy news as Nevada is adopted and joins Shiloh Horse, Larceny, in her new home!

See updated under saddle videos below description!

7/21/11 Nevada is looking good and is looking for a few home. She is doing very well and will be a great horse for the right person.

9/26/10 Nevada is now officially looking for her new home- she has come a long way and Elisa has done a great job with her. She is now walk, trot and cantering, ties and stands for grooming and tacking. She is still not very good for the farrier- okay on her front feet- not good with her hind (but should improve with time and work). Nevada is sound, healthy and up to date.

9/1/10 Nevada is really coming along! She is learning to canter under saddle now (see video below) and has shown excellent manners. She can be a bit lazy at times, but is willing and turning out to be a fun little horse to ride! She has not bucked, reared or taken off. She ties and stands for bathing, grooming and tacking. She is blossoming into a very nice riding mare.

8/11/10 Nevada is now working under saddle. BB is weaned and moving on to his new life and now it's Nevada's turn. She is currently being ridden by both Elisa and Leo and I will keep her page updated with her progress.

4/9/10 Leo has been working hard with Nevada and she is going very nicely under saddle now. Great Job, Leo and Nevada! (BB too!)

Arrived at Shiloh on 12/30/09 from the Fallon, NV feedlot along with her five day old foal, Battle Born.

Nevada gave birth in the freezing snowy feedlot on Christmas morning. She was scheduled to ship to the Canadian slaughterhouse, Bouvery, with in a few days, but she saved her own life by giving birth to her foal.

We were called by our contact and told about this little baby and his mom. We knew the foal would most likely die on the lot, it was in the mid teens and snowing and he was exoposed to the elements. So, Sally and I drove up to Fallon to pick Nevada and Battle Born up. We arrived back at Shiloh on 12/30/09.

Nevada is most likely broke to ride, something we will figure out after little BB is weaned at six months of age. Nevada is very friendly, and although she was very shy and stressed on the feedlot, she is blossoming at Shiloh and enjoying the attention.
